We purchased granite from you a few months back for our kitchen. It looks awesome. Your guys were excellent from the salesman to the templater to the installers! There was a corner that was cut too long because we were missing a cabinet piece the day the template was done. Even though it was not your fault, your guys were out here within days to adjust the edge. It looks fantastic! As a concierge, I go into some expensive and exclusive homes where the counters do not look half as good as mine does! Thanks again!

We love the granite we purchased from you and we were very happy with everything. Can you recommend a very good sealant product so that when it is time to do that, I know I am using something worthy of the granite? Thanks! Pat Downingtown, PA

First we need to find out if your stone needs or wants sealer (many don‘t). If water beads up for more than a half hour, I wouldn‘t recommend re-sealing more than once every 5 years.

If the stone soaks up water immediately, we‘d recommend a professional sealer that unfortunately isn‘t sold to the public, and we usually purchase by the 5 gallon drum, or occasionaly by the gallon. It‘s about 300% better than anything we‘ve ever tested before.

Several years ago we were very impressed by the stone sealer from Stone Care International SCI. It‘s the brown bottle that‘s for sale at either (or both) Ace Hardware or TrueValue and Home Depot. We also have a lot of respect for the "Miracle Products" 511 sealer in the tile aisle at Home Depot. It doesn‘t smell great, and you have to be VERY thorough when buffing the residue off approx 15 minutes after sealing, but it does work.

Do you do service repairs on allready existing granite. Just had granite installed and the installer turned out to be a dead beat. the edge isn‘t polished correctly and keeps getting dull. He ignores our calls and won‘t fix it properly. Saved up for 2 yrs to be disappointed.

We‘re always heartbroken when we hear stories like this. After talking with you, it sounds like the only course of action is to un-install the granite countertop from the other company, re-work it at our shop, and re-install it 2 days later.

Do you do granite repair work? I have a honed black absolute granite top small kitchen island, which has water and oil stains, can‘t remove.

Thanks for the inquiry. We are occasionally engaged to perform stone restoration. We have re-honed black absolute in the home before.

Before it comes to that we‘d like to know the approximate sizes of all the honed black absolute pieces in the home, and what town you‘re in.

We suggest that honed black absolute be maintained by thorough scrubbing with very hot water with dish detergent using a bristle brush to try and remove some of the oil. Follow up with daily or twice a day cleanings with your stone cleaner of choice. Sometimes the homeowner can re-hone small spots by using the green 3M sanding pads (sometimes the gray 3cm sanding pads work better?) (available at Lowes?). When the top is brand new, the green sanding pads seem to do a great job at matching the factory finish (same grit level?). On a used stone top they should be swirled lightly in the beginning because you may have to clean/re-hone the entire top so that the restored area doesn‘t stick out.
